Dr. Anthony Williams is being recognized as the Honorary Hero for nearly 40 years of providing access to soccer for children living in the inner city of Columbus through the Columbus Metro Soccer Association Recreational League (CMSA).

What Makes a Hometown Hero?

The 2025 selection committee, comprised of stakeholders from Major League Soccer, Austin FC, RBC Wealth Management and Black Players for Change, will identify four (4) Hometown Heroes based on the contributions in one or more of the following areas:

Removing Barriers to Access Youth Soccer

Empowering Youth to be Future Leaders

Protecting Green Spaces & Being Environmentally Responsible

Organizations must be a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization and demonstrate a minimum of one (1) year business operation.
